Emergency Hardship Assistance

We are the charity for all homeless people.

HOME, a registered charity dedicated to ending homelessness in Bermuda, is offering Rental Support Services (Emergency Subsidy) to help individuals and families avoid eviction and housing instability.
We believe that housing is the first step to ending homelessness. This program provides financial assistance to tenants and landlords to ensure people can maintain stable, dignified housing during times of financial hardship.

  • Assistance available to cover arrears (up to $10,000/year) if tenancy can continue.

How to Request Assistance

Eligibility Requirements:

 
  • Must have a signed lease agreement or proof of consistent rent payments.
  • Landlord must agree to continued tenancy if arrears are covered.
  • Tenants must agree to remain or secure alternative long-term housing

Keishen Bean

Supervising Case Manager

Keishen has always been passionate about working with at-risk populations. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies from Cape Breton University, he spent four years as a residential care officer for the Department of Child & Family Services in a youth group home setting. Later, he spent eight years as an educational therapist assistant with the Ministry of Education. Keishen is well known in the sports community, having served as captain of the Bermuda Hogges, North Village Rams, and the Bermuda National Football Team. His leadership and teamwork abilities have allowed him to effectively serve vulnerable populations, whom he feels have been overlooked for far too long.

 

Dr. Tiffanne Thomas

COO The Family Centre

Dr. Tiffanne Thomas has over two decades of experience in human services, both locally and overseas. She is the founder and former Executive Director of Transitional Community Services, a nonprofit that supports vulnerable and at-risk young adult men aged 18–34. Dr. Thomas presently sits on their Board as the Non-Exec Vice Chair. Additionally, Dr. Thomas currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer at the Family Centre. She is deeply committed to advocating for and protecting marginalized populations and has a strong interest in helping individuals reach their fullest potential by building on their inherent strengths. Equally dedicated to driving systemic change, Dr. Thomas has contributed her expertise to numerous boards and steering committees. A strong proponent of collaborative work toward shared goals, Dr. Thomas believes meaningful change is achieved through collective effort. She is passionate about Bermuda, and envisions a day when Bermuda is known globally as a place that takes care of its vulnerable.
